Origin of Life vs. EvolutionSome try to deny the fact of evolution because evolution cannot explain where life first came from. Evolution is how life got from point A (a common ancestor) to all the current species we see today. Gravity is only the means of how a falling object gets from point A to point B, should we deny the existence of gravity just because it does not explain the origin of the falling object? Sounds like a foolish question but some have tried to deny evolution since it does not explain the origin of life. Just as gravity has nothing to do with the origin of an object, evolution has nothing to do with the origin of life. How life first came to be, on Earth, is a process known as Abiogenesis. The topics of evolution and abiogenesis are very different topics.

Origins of life (abiogenesis)
Abiogenesis, the explanation of where life came from, is a field of research that is still in its infancy. The exact origin of life on earth is currently unknown and will probably never be known but we do know how it could have happened. There are actually several possibilities being researched, all with similar natural explanations.
The idea of living matter coming from non-living matter may seem far fetch when the average person thinks about it but in reality such a process is not that complicated. All mater, living and non-living, is built up out of atoms forming chemical elements. All of those atoms can be broken down to just one single type of atom, Hydrogen. Now that you realize all of living and non-living matter can be broken down into smaller and simpler elements it will be easier to grasp the concept of how life formed. Life obviously did not just form from nothing. All of life is made up of a small set of chemical elements; Hydrogen, Carbon, Oxygen & Nitrogen. These are the most common elements in the universe and when arranged in the right combination they are the fundamental ingredients of life. Keep in mind that early life was extremely simple with no complex protein machinery. The question is how exactly the previously mentioned elements produced the right combination to form life in it's simple earliest stage.
